Abstract
Quality Assurance (QA) is an important prerequisite to the enhancement of the analytical data produced by different operators or by different instrumentation. Especially, the selection of a sampling technique is crucial to ensure the subjectiveness of the analysis. In this study, the analytical technique for four volatile organic compounds (VOC) including: benzene, toluene, p-xylene, and styrene was investigated by evaluating the relationship between two different analytical sampling methods (i.e, adsorption tube vs Tedlar bag method). For this purpose, the same working standard of VOC was prepared and collected simultaneously by the Tedlar bag and the tube method. The reliability of each sampling method was then assessed by analytical results derived each approach. The reproducibility of analytical method, estimated in terms of (relative standard error (RSE %)), showed that both methods can maintain below values 5% level. The results of this study indicate that both sampling approaches are highly comparable to each other. The results of this study suggest that both tube method and Tedlar bag method are compiling well.
Key Words: adsorption tube, Tedlar bag, Quality Assurance (QA), recovery rate, reproducibility
